Short Bio

Yunfan Gao received a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from Fudan University, Shanghai, China in 2019. She took her master's study in Robotics, Systems and Control at ETH Zurich, and graduated in January 2022. In March 2022, she became an industrial PhD student at Bosch Research under the supervision of Prof. Moritz Diehl. In October 2025, she moved to the University of Freiburg. She is also an associated fellow of the Marie-Curie project ELO-X. Her PhD topic is "Robust Optimal Control and Model Predictive Control of Robots in Confined Spaces”.
