Aachen-Freiburg Workshop on modeling and optimal control of a Gasoline Controlled Auto Ignition (GCAI) Engine

Monday, November 27, 2017, 12:00 - 18:00

Room 03-011, Georges-Köhler Allee 102, Freiburg 79110, Germany

The bilateral workshop is part of the DFG "Forschergruppe Optimierungsbasierte Multiskalenregelung motorischer Niedertemperatur-Brennverfahren”, and will focus on the sub-project "Numerical methods for optimization based control of cyclic processes”. Aim of this workshop is to discuss the following topics:

Modelling issues:
    - how to identify deficiencies in the discrete model and how to decide between discrete and continuous-time modeling approaches
    - if possible: decide on model structure in order to move forward with the controller design
    - system identification strategy (parameter estimation + experiment design)
Algorithm improvements:
    - how to improve the existing estimation algorithm used on the test bench
    - discuss suitable nmpc algorithms
Deployment issues:
    - plan collaboration for deployment of algorithms on dSpace with acados
    - publication planning
